<hr /></p><p></p><p><b>To the Editor:</b> Good-bye, Dryden’s.</p><p>Jackie said it all: “it hurts.”</p><p>We’ve been friends with so many at Dryden’s since 1956.</p><p>I remember when I was a young mother 1956 – I had picked up a cough syrup and prescription for our sick child. As I turned to leave the counter, I dropped the cough syrup and it broke. I turned with tears in my eyes, and Jack Sr. said, “don’t worry, we’ll refill it – no charge.” You don’t hear that compassion today.</p><p>Jackie was always so kind to our mom, Iva Elkins. And she loved him for his kindness.</p><p>We’ve always had great faith in Dryden’s, and you’ve always come through.
